Solved right triangle (A=36.87°)

At a glance:In a right triangle, the hypotenuse c and legs a, b satisfy c² = a² + b² (Pythagoras). Angle A is opposite side a, so sin A = a/c, cos A = b/c, tan A = a/b; the two acute angles sum to 90°.

Formula

c² = a² + b².

sin A = a/c, cos A = b/c, tan A = a/b.

A + B = 90°.

How to Use

  1. Enter two of the three sides, or one side plus angle A.
  2. Read the remaining sides and angles.

FAQ

What must I enter?

Two sides (e.g. a,b to get c; or a,c to get b), or one side plus angle A solves everything.

Degrees or radians?

This tool uses degrees: 30°, 45°, 60°.
