FAQ

Is this accurate?

The BMI method is convenient but imprecise — it overestimates muscular people and underestimates others; calipers or bioimpedance are more accurate.

Why the sex difference?

Women naturally carry more fat; the −10.8×sex term (male 1, female 0) reflects that.

Healthy body fat range?

Roughly 10–20% for men and 18–28% for women is a common healthy range; athletes are often lower.
