Formula

BMI (Body Mass Index) = weight (kg) ÷ height (m)².

BMR uses the Mifflin-St Jeor equation: male = 10 × weight + 6.25 × height(cm) − 5 × age + 5; female = same − 161.

TDEE = BMR × activity factor (sedentary 1.2 to extra active 1.9).

Ideal weight reference targets BMI 22: ideal weight = 22 × height(m)².

How to Use

  1. Enter height and weight; switch between cm / lb units.
  2. Fill in age and select gender.
  3. Choose your weekly exercise activity level.
  4. The calculator instantly shows BMI, BMR, TDEE, and ideal weight.

FAQ

Are Asian BMI standards the same as international ones?

The WHO recommends stricter references for Asians: BMI 18.5–22.9 is normal, 23–24.9 overweight, and 25+ obese. The Hong Kong Department of Health also adopts a similar Asian standard, which differs slightly from Western thresholds (obesity at 30).

How do I use TDEE to manage weight?

To maintain weight, eat about TDEE per day; to lose weight create a calorie deficit (e.g. 500 kcal/day less), and vice versa for gain. Consult a professional for personalized advice.
