At a glance:Required man-days = area ÷ daily productivity (output per worker-day). Total labour hours = man-days × 8 hours. Estimated duration = man-days ÷ simultaneous workers (any part of a day counts as a day). Productivity varies greatly with trade, skill and site conditions, so adjust from actual records. This calculator counts labour man-days only and excludes plant, material delays and weather stoppages.
Formula
Man-days = area / productivity
Duration = ⌈man-days / workers⌉
$$M = \frac{A}{p}$$$$D = \left\lceil M / n \right\rceil$$How to Use
- Enter the work area (m²).
- Enter the daily productivity (m²/man-day).
- Enter the number of workers and planned days.
- The tool outputs man-days and estimated duration.

FAQ
How to set productivity?
Refer to past records or industry experience; for new trades be conservative and keep a buffer.
Does adding workers always help?
Limited by the work-face (how many can work at once) and material supply, too many workers get in each other's way — diminishing returns apply.
